"Learning in public from a homestead in Northeast Texas."

The Personal

I live on 3 acres in Northeast Texas with my wife and our four children. When I'm not architecting networks or writing notes, I'm likely tending to the land or enjoying the chaos of a large family.

The Engineer

By title, I am a Senior Engineer for a nationwide MSP though my role is more architecting solutions. My work primarily serves churches and non-profit organizations, helping them navigate the complexities of modern IT without losing sight of their mission.

My technical world revolves around the edge and the cloud—specifically networking and Microsoft 365. I don't deal much with bare-metal servers anymore; my clients have moved on.

  • SonicWall Firewalls
  • Ruckus Wireless & Switching
  • Azure / Entra Identity
  • Automation with Python and PowerShell

The Theologian

While my hands work on networks, my mind often dwells on the ancient faith. I hold degrees in Biblical Studies and Apologetics from Liberty University.

I grew up in the Baptist tradition, but have since discovered and been studying the Eastern Orthodox tradition. I have a deep love for comparative religion and exploring how patristic theology intersects with our modern, digital lives. Much of my writing explores this tension—how to live an ancient faith in a high-tech world.

The Gardener

This website is a Digital Garden. Unlike a blog, which is a stream of finished articles sorted by date, a garden is a collection of evolving notes.

I use Obsidian and the Zettelkasten method to manage my knowledge. The notes you see here are exported directly from my personal vault. They might be incomplete, they might be rough, but they are growing.
