When Jesus was called upon by the disciples to cast out a demon which they could not, He gave them one piece of clarity, "this kind only comes out with prayer and fasting." - Matthew 17:21 When we decide to serve another, to take on another's burden, or to simply sit in a moment with them we should prepare our own soul and mindset through prayer and fasting.
