# Jesus Provides - MATTHEW 15:32-39 - 2024-08-24 I struggle tonight to push through and write this. I'm tired, and the kids struggled today. I spent most of the day keeping the peace, but the topic of the night is clearly evident. Jesus provides. I trust that he's giving me the strength to push through and write this for my own sake as well as yours. Let's take a look. *At that time, Jesus called his disciples to him and said, "I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days, and have nothing to eat; and I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way." And the disciples said to him, "Where are we to get bread enough in the desert to feed so great a crowd?" And Jesus said to them, "How many loaves have you?" They said, "Seven, and a few small fish." And commanding the crowd to sit down on the ground, he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied; and they took up seven baskets full of the broken pieces left over. Those who ate were four thousand men, besides women and children. And sending away the crowds, he got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan. - MATTHEW 15:32-39* Yesterday we read of Mary and Martha, particularly of Martha's annoyance that Mary was sitting and listening to Jesus teach rather than preparing the meal. We see tonight precisely why the necessity was on sitting and listening rather than preparations. Jesus took the lunch of the disciples and dispersed it among four thousand men. He didn't require someone prepare a meal for everyone, he provided it himself. The people just needed to sit down and listen; he took care of them. We're in the same space, when we have the opportunity to sit and listen to Jesus we should choose that over all else. He will provide that which is needed during the time we're with him so we should have no worry about those things.
