**How can we design our world where it's easy to do what's right?** I know a certain FE that likes to make fun of me because I *frequently* rearrange my office, move my monitors and speakers and all the things. I always attribute it to my mom's constant rearranging and repainting of the house growing up (there's probably 2 dozen different colors of paint on those walls...), but reading *Atomic Habits* earlier this week I may have a more reasonable reason for it. I'm trying to find ways to interrupt bad habits and enable good ones. I'm probably going to rearrange again this next week after Tulsa as I recognize some good habits are still too much friction. I think sometimes we all can get into a rhythm in which we "just grin and bear it" push through the frictions and get things done. But what if we could take 10 or 15 minutes on a Friday and think about what simple thing we could do today that would eliminate some of that friction next week? We always joke that documentation is a gift to our future selves, but so is reviewing your calendar, so is setting out your label maker and checking batteries / labels before you go on-site for a project, and so is taking that distraction out of your line of sight so you can focus on the work at hand. We don't have to rearrange the whole room, just find one thing today that makes it easy to do what's right next week.
