I believe that by planning my blog around theological topics I will have a ready stream of content available that won't require a significant amount of digging and learning about before I feel comfortable enough to write. The first of these will be a daily, free post about the Daily Scriptures. See [Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America](https://www.antiochian.org/epistleliturgicday/).
Currently there are two readings per day, so I can effectively get two years worth of content just writing a post in a homily style about one of the two readings. I should also be able to get about half of a year with the Psalms, I'm sure there's also a liturgical Old Testament reading as well that I can find. I think I would want the post to have a similar format each day so that readers come to recognize the flow of the post and make a connection.
I would expect each post to have at least 500 words written about the text, that is above and beyond the text of the scriptures being discussed. I suppose a reasonable format would be as follows:
# Post Title - Scripture Reference - Date
Short intro. Maybe 150 words max welcoming readers once again.
## Scripture text - Reference
## Homily about the text 400+ words
### Call to action for subscribing and following along - template applied to all posts via Substack

# The Smallest Faith - Matthew 13:31-36 - July 31, 2024
I often find myself struggling to have "big faith." My Texas upbringing tells me that everything must be "big!" However, in today's reading we can see something different. The smallest faith makes a difference. We don't have to have the most faith in the room to still be faithful, take a look:
*The Lord said this parable, "The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches." He told them another parable. "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, till it was all leavened. All this Jesus said to the crowds in parables; indeed he said nothing to them without a parable. This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet: "I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world." Then Jesus left the crowds and went into the house. - MATTHEW 13:31-36*
A mustard seed, as you probably already know if you're reading this blog, is tiny. One of the smallest seeds out there and yet it grows into a large tree. Jesus is telling us that you have to start *somewhere*. Plant that tiny, tiny seed and let it grow into one of the greatest trees known. ... ...
Thanks for joining me today in this reading. I love what I do and how I get to share this with you every day. Go ahead and subscribe so you don't miss out on my other posts each week!
